Another CAS challenge.

I am enjoying experimenting with CAS cards at the moment and after seeing this weeks sketch challenge at "Less is More" I decided to play along.  For this really simple card I masked the border with low tac masking tape and stamped and distressed the Hydrangea image in the middle.  I then just removed the tape and added the sentiment.    I stamped the flower with Peacock Feather ink, a new one to my collection and I really love the bright colour, so pretty.
I am also adding this to the "Addicted to CAS" challenge, which is "Flowers"

I was asked to make a non traditional Christening card for a lady at work, I found this sweet little applique bear in my local Stamp Shop and knew he would be perfect for my card. The sentiment is computer generated so I haven't actually used any stamping on this card, which is very unusual for me.

I hope you are having a great weekend, I have been able to get in the garden again today and have planted some seeds, lets hope the good weather is here to stay!

Baby.

I have had time to make two cards today for two separate challenges.  This first card is for the CAS(E) sketch challenge , quite a hard one this week but I had to have a try,

The second card is for the Simon Says Blog "Anything Goes" challenge.

I am back to using my Postcard stamp again, I just love the shaped card it creates,  the butterfly is stamped onto a wine label and then coloured, the photograph is a bit dark but  its a lovely shade of purple.

I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend after a very busy week at work, hope your weekend is relaxing too.

A new CAS challenge!!

I have just found this new challenge blog for CAS cards and decided to have a go, I like the sketch idea, I always find sketch challenges a bit harder to do and I need to get my brain working!!
I got so engrossed in it that I actually made two cards.

I love this beetle car stamp and it always looks fun paper pieced.

This is my second card, using die cuts and my dogs tooth embossing folder.
I am also entering these in the CAS-ual Friday challenge.

At last we have some spring like weather here and I have been out in the garden tidying up and planting some seeds.  I hope it lasts!

CASology...

Just a quick post today with a card I have made for this weeks CASology challenge "WORD"!!

I have just got this new word die and have only used it once, so I had to have another go just for this challenge.

Hope you are having a good week.

One Layer Card

I decided to have another go at the Less is More challenge this week although it challenged me in another way!!  The theme is a one layer card using a film as inspiration.  I am not really a film watcher and really had to think about this,  I looked through my stamps for some inspiration and came up with "The Great Escape"
I know it dates back to 1963 but I remember my Dad watching Steve McQueen and really enjoying the motor bike sequence.

I am also linking up to the CASology challenge this week as their theme is "Travel"

Another wet miserable day in Surrey, so I am stuck indoors again, never mind I have made a card now I am off to make some cakes.  I hope the weather is brighter where you are!!

Grid Card Challenge

One of our Flickr group members Jacqueline makes the most amazing "Grid Cards" with her scraps, everyone in the group admires her beautiful work.  She has set us a little challenge to use up our scraps and make a "Grid Card" with them.  Well here is my entry I have tried to stick to a similar colour scheme while using up scraps from my very full basket.  I am really pleased with the collage effect, my basket is full to bursting so this is definitely the way forward as I can't bear to throw any bits away!!
I am also going to enter this in the Simon Says Spring Flower Challenge.
Looks like the weather is getting more spring like in the UK although we now have April Showers so I still can't get into the garden!!

A New Challenge!

I stumbled across this challenge while looking through some of my favourite blogs and decided to have a go. The Less is More challenge this week is Lime and Black, now these aren't my normal go to colours ,but that is what a challenge is all about!

I have made two cards both very simple and "Lime an Black"!!!
For the top card I just swiped a lime ink pad over the card base to create this effect and then stamped on the sentiment and added the gems.

For the second card I masked off the center panel and inked with a sponge before stamping with my Tweed Pattern stamp in the same green.  I then just added the Butterfly and gems.  I have a confession to make the gems are there to cover a spot of green that got on the edge of the card, I think I like the sparkly touch .

I am also going to enter this in the Simon Says Blog "Birthday Challenge"

The sun has actually come out today and I am going for a long walk this afternoon, I am really looking forward to getting outside at last!!  Have a good Sunday.

Another Post Card Card!!!

I have just realized that when I am making cards I have this habit of making lots with the same stamp before moving on to another stamp,  last month my favourite was the Etched Flower stamp, this month has started and it seems to be the Post Card stamp!!  I start stamping and lots of ideas flood into my brain!

This is another card for the sketch challenge this month at the Hero Arts Blog and also the new challenge at Simon Says which is make a birthday card..  I have used Pool ink and orange together, always a pretty combination. The flower is the Large Ruffled Flower from HA which I have coloured with copics and then cut smaller to fit the card size.

Another cold dull day in Surrey, I wish spring would soon arrive!!!

Post Card Stamp.

I had planned to get in the garden today and tidy it up but its still too cold to get outside so I have used the time to make some cards for the new April challenge over at the Hero Arts Blog..  For the first card I have used the sketch inspiration and my Post Card stamp, love this shape of card.

As I had the Post Card stamp out on my desk I decided to make another card for the same challenge, this time its for the feminine card bit of the challenge.  I have added the poppies and coloured them with copics.

I am loving my new HA stamps, the tweed background and the post card go so well together, I can see me using them alot!!

Hope you have all had a great Easter weekend.
