Tropical Birthday

If you are looking for my Hero Arts Blog post
 please look here!

I decided to have another play with my new Hero Arts Tropical Background stamp, I wanted to try and create an ombre effect but it didn't turn out quite as expected!!  I still liked the result so just added the sentiment on a banner ans some bakers twine.  A simple card but I am pleased with the colourful result.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I was really excited to be asked to join in this annual blog hop for Hero Hostesses once again and couldn't wait to get started with the fabulous new 2015 stamps and die.  I have made four cards all on a similar theme just so you could see how versatile this fabulous new Hello "Stamp and Cut" (DC151) set really is!!

This first card is made using the die cut Hello layered up on green and then two layers of white card to make it really stand out.  I then stamped leaves from the new Stamp your own Plant (CL834) set in various shades of green added the hello cut out , then layered the white card on some more green card for added depth.

This second card is a small 4 3/4 by 3 1/2 size, a little card to put with a gift perhaps!  I used some Raspberry Jam, Pale Tomato and Butter Bar HA inks to create the center panel and then die cut the word hello (DC151) saving all the small pieces from the letter centers. I then die cut a second white word, after adhering the panel to my card base I carefully stuck the small centers of the letters in place.  Lastly I added a few sequins.

I couldn't wait to use the coloured word left from the last card and quickly made this small note card, I decided to sew the word to the front for a change.

Lastly I made another quick card using the new Tropical Background (CG659) cling stamp, I stamped a panel with Butter Bar ink attached it to my card base and added a row of stitching down one side.  Next I stamped my sentiment from the Hello Stamp and Cut set (DC151) in black and added a few sequins.

I hope you have all enjoyed today's Hero Hostess Hop,  don't forget to stop by again tomorrow when eight more Hostesses will be joining this weeks Hop and showing you their fabulous creations with new stamps from the new Hero Arts Spring Catalogue.

Hopefully I am back!!!

I cant believe that its been nearly three months since I posted a card, a lot has happened over those months but hopefully I am back!!

I had been suffering a bad back and neck for about four months last year  and for a while  I was not able to craft at all but after some fantastic sessions of Shiatsu massage I seem to be on the mend!!

I have also decided to take early retirement from my job in the office of a local school, I have been there twenty years and it has been a hard decision to make but I am really looking forward to retirement and having more time for all my hobbies.  We have also decided now is the right time to move to Bridport in Dorset, its something we have always dreamed about a house in the country away from all the commuter traffic and hectic life style in Surrey, we had found a beautiful house and were set to move this month but unfortunately it all went wrong and the house we were buying was taken off the market at the last minute.  I have spent months decluttering and packing and now we have to start looking all over again.  Hopefully we will find another place soon!!

My first card in three months and my mojo has been a little slow to kick start but with the help of some fabulous new Hero Arts stamps and dies I have made this card with the perfect sentiment to all my blogging friends.

I have used the new Tropical Background cling with some Orange Soda and Cup o Joe Hero Arts inks, also my new Stamp and Cut Hello set. The die is cut using a lovely dark brown card.

Sorry for the long post and its good to be back!!!.
